Tropical wave passed by overnight leaving an unpromising start to the day. However the cloud soon cleared and the wind picked up to give the best day's sailing of the week.

Tried Switch 107 l, but could not cope with the fin, which was 34cm long but really thin, spinning out on every pice of chop. Club Mistral did not seem keen on changing the fin so I went back to the 105 l Screamer with its 35cm, nice and wide fin, which did'nt spin out once.

Started well powered on 6.2m Instinct. Changed down to 5.7m Instinct, then 5.3m Voodoo. Perfect morning flying in and out over the swell, riding the swell back in, and making the occassional chop hop and gybe. Wind seemed more consitent, or maybe it was just stronger overall, giving much longer periods of planing than other days.

After lunch wind started to drop so changed back to 5.7m Instinct then 6.2m Duke - which seemed better than when I tried it earlier in the week, or maybe it was the wind that was better. Nice to have ready rigged sails on hand curtesy of Club Mistral.

Overall 5 hours plus of planing winds in sunshine and tuquioise seas, wearing shorts and seeing turtles diving out of the way of the board. The locals say its often this good.
